Har Ghar Ghar Tiranga || According to the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, all citizens are urged to turn the campaign into a mass movement by hoisting or displaying the national flags in their homes and using the Indian tricolor as a display or profile pictures on their social media handles to commemorate the 75th year of Indian independence.
The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and promote awareness about the tri-color. Apart from houses, the flag will be hoisted in PSUs, local self-government bodies, government, educational institutions, commercial establishments, and private firms.
The recent amendments made by the Government of India allowed the display of the national flag both day and night, only if it is displayed in the open or in the house of a member of the public. Earlier the national flag could only be hoisted between sunrise and sunset.
The flag can be bought online through the post office portal at a price of just Rs. 25. The flag will be sold with the dimensions of 20 inches and 30 inches in length and breadth, which will be available without a pole. The flag can be ordered at the postoffice.gov.in website by anyone in India.
The National Flag is a horizontal tricolor of India saffron (Kesari) at the top, white in the middle, and India green at the bottom in equal proportion. The ratio of the width of the flag to its length is two to three.
