Kokrajhar: Anamaya, the Tribal Health Collaborative set up in April 2021, is a multi-stakeholder collaborative committed to improving the health of tribal communities, and ending preventable deaths among tribal and other marginalized communities across India.

It is an initiative of the Ministries of Tribal Affairs and Health, supported by the Piramal Foundation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF). Anamaya will converge efforts of various Government agencies and organizations to enhance the health and nutrition status of the tribal communities of India.
On 10th August, Madhu Raghavendra from Anamaya had preliminary discussions with Dr. Prahlad Basumatary, Deputy Registrar and Director, Centre of Bodo Studies at Bodoland University regarding knowledge partnerships with the University.
Prof. Sudev Ch. Basumatary from the Department of History in the University too expressed scope for seminars and workshops and training towards developing better research in the Bodo communities.

Madhu also met Dr.Bihung Brahma, Secretary, Nativers' Institute of Bodology and Professor at Centre for Linguistics and Cultural Studies, CIT Kokrajhar, and discussed the scope of developing a knowledge repository of aspects such as traditional medicine and ethnobotany.
There is a need to understand the various interdisciplinary dimensions of health-seeking behavior and allied cultural practices among indigenous communities for sustainable positive health outcomes. The Collaborative is exploring such knowledge partnerships as it may be extremely useful for evidence-based policymaking in the region.
