Earthquake Recent at Myanmar Richter Scale 5.60.  The largest earthquake in Myanmar today: was 5.6 in Mawlaik, Sagaing, Myanmar. An earthquake of 5.6 magnitudes struck Myanmar on Friday, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) and Earthquake App said. The quake was about 112 km (69.59 miles) north northwest of Monywa in Myanmar and had a depth of 144 km (89.48 miles) EMSC added.

There is not one magnitude above which damage will occur. It depends on other variables, such as the distance from the earthquake.  Earthquakes can trigger landslides and mudslides, especially in areas with water-soaked soils. Landslides may result in falling rocks and debris that collide with people, trees, animals, buildings, and vehicles. They also can block roads and disrupt utility lines sources said.

The strongest earthquake in Burma happened on 03/21/1954 in the region of Kolkata, Cuttack, and Bhagalpur with a magnitude of 7.4 on the Richter scale.
