Globally, around 186 300 children under 18 years die from road traffic crashes annually, and road traffic injuries are the leading killer of children aged 15-17 years worldwide. Two times as many boys as girls die in road traffic crashes

Knowing that driver error is the most common underlying factor is a good start, but it doesn't tell us what types of accidents occur most frequently in India. Digging into NH data reveals that three types of crashes happen more often than others: rear-end collisions, angle accidents, and sideswipes.

Why do children have accidents?

Why do children have accidents? Because children are often absorbed in their immediate interests they can be oblivious to their surroundings. They only have a limited perception of the environment because of their lack of experience or development.
