Eligibility:-

Age: Class VI. Candidates (boys and girls) aged between 10-12 years as of 31 March 2022 (born between 01 April 2010 to 31 March 2012.

Class IX. Only boys aged between 13-15 years on 31 March 2022 (born between 01 April 2007 to 31 March 2009.

PROCEDURE OF ADMISSION:

Common Entrance Test for admission to Class VI and IX is held in December and is automated OMR based on subjects mentioned under the head 'ADMISSION TEST'. For admission to Class VI boys and girls, a candidate should not be less than 10 years and more than 12 years of age as of 31 March of the year of admission.

For admission to Class IX boys only, a candidate should not be less than 13 years and more than 15 years of age as of 31 March of the year of admission. Admission into Classes VI and IX is based on available vacancies. Parents/students should also note that all admissions are in the category of Boarders only. No day scholars are allowed. Admissions are exclusively for boys. Important dates for admission in Rashtriya Military Schools are as under:-

(a) Last date of submission of Application Forms for Class VI & IX will be as per the Notification being published.

(b) Date of Written Examination for Class VI & Class IX to be intimated to all successfully registered candidates through registered Email IDs / Mobile No.

RESERVATION OF VACANCIES

General Guidelines :

(a) 70% for wards of JCOs/OR of Army, Navy, and AF ( including Ex-servicemen).

(b) 30% for wards of Officers of Army, Navy, and AF (including retired Officers) and wards of civilians.

(c) 50 seats are reserved for wards of service personnel Killed in Action. Note: 15% and 7.5% seats are reserved for SC and ST in all categories.

Rashtriya Military schools were established as King George's Royal Indian Military schools to take care of the education of the sons of defense personnel. In 1952, the schools were reorganized on Public School lines and admissions were made open to the sons of Defence Service Officers and civilians. In 1954, the school became a member of the Indian Public Schools Conference (IPSC) and continues to be an active member to date. The schools were renamed Military Schools in 1966 and its old motto, 'Play the Game' was replaced with 'Sheelem Param Bhushanam' which means Character is the Highest Virtue. On 25th Jun 2007, the schools got their present name "Rashtriya Military School". The school has several of its alumni occupying high positions in the Armed Forces and in other sectors doing stellar service to the motherland.
