Tangla, 27 Mar 2023: The world's highest railway track in India is the Bilaspur-Manali-Leh railway line project. However, it is important to note that the project is currently under development and has not been completed yet. Once completed, it is expected to become the highest railway track in the world, with the highest point of the track reaching an altitude of approximately 5,360 meters (17,600 feet) above sea level at Tanglang La Pass in the Himalayas.

The project is a significant engineering undertaking, as it involves constructing railway tracks in difficult mountainous terrain, with extreme weather conditions and challenging geology. The project is expected to boost economic development and tourism in the region once it is completed.

The world's 2nd highest railway track is located in China and is known as the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. The railway connects Xining, the capital of Qinghai Province, with Lhasa, the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region. The track reaches an altitude of 5,072 meters (16,640 feet) above sea level at Tanggula Pass, making it the highest railway track in the world.

The construction of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway was a significant engineering feat and involved overcoming numerous technical and environmental challenges, including the high altitude, extreme weather conditions, and fragile ecology of the Tibetan plateau. The railway has become an important transportation link between China and Tibet, boosting economic development and tourism in the region.
