The Bagurumba is a traditional dance of the indigenous Boro people living in the State of Assam and North East India. This is a traditional dance that is passed from one generation to the next. Typically, the Bodo women perform the Bagurumba dance, wearing their colorful traditional attire Dokhna, jwmgra, and Aronai. 

There are 5 main ethnic dance forms among the Bodos, performed on different occasions with great pomp & show in their colorful hand-woven traditional attire.

The Bagurumba (Bodo: बागुरुम्बा) is a traditional dance of the indigenous Boro people living in the State of Assam and North East India. This is a traditional dance that is passed from one generation to the next.


Bodos worship the Bathou as the supreme God. The name of the supreme God of Bodos is also known as brain or sibrai (“eldest of all”). The Bath religion has been practiced since time immemorial. There is no idol worship in the Bathou religion.
