Udalguri: Researchers from Anamaya, along with the district communitization team met with a few traditional healers in Udalguri. The explorative research tried to understand the perspectives and practices of traditional healers, and public health systems can help gain insights on if and how traditional and modern systems can be integrated and/ or assimilated safely for holistic improvement of tribal health in India. It can strengthen ongoing and future efforts of mapping and usage of traditional medicines.

Anamaya, the Tribal Health Collaborative is a multi-stakeholder collaborative committed to improving the health of tribal communities and assisting India in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
A ‘Tribal Health Cell’ is being set up in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
It will help central ministries and state governments to facilitate and strengthen primary health care systems and invest in tribal health research.
